Fantasy — Page 11

Editor's Note: Since our first purchase of computer equipment in 1990, which included a Mac, scanner, printer, and software to include QuarkXpress, Photoshop, Claris Works, GoLive Cyberstudio, etc., I have never ceased to be amazed at the opportunities presented to express one's thoughts, ideas and creativity. Since that time, though I have learned enough to accomplish my immediate goals at any given time, I have not begun to learn and exercise the myriad options that are available to me through this relatively new and evolving technology. Our resident artist on this web site, Philip Alexander, has demonstrated a far more sophisticated knowledge of their application and a combination of talent, creativity and drive that never ceases to amaze me. The Tiger Composite Drawing, illustrated below, is a perfect example of this. Enjoy!

The Tiger Mosaic

The Artist's Commentary: I have on file about 9500 small pictures, stored according to color and not according to subject. Then I arrange them in such a way that about 2400 of them form a larger picture, as in a mosaic.

Here is one I did of a tiger, showing the mosaic, and a close-up of it where you can see what the individual pictures are. And then a second picture showing how it looks hanging in a room.
